Since 1957, due to the demand of people's livelihood, Taiwan launched into a  economic construction.  From there, the furniture industry began to grow rapidly.  In 1973, due to a high volume of demand in the furniture industry, the Taiwan Wooden Furniture Manufacturers' Association was established.        

In 1982, Honorary Chairman-PoYor Hou bought the office on Zhongxiao East Road by fundraising. In 1985, to comply the international trend and reality, Taiwan Wooden Furniture Manufacturers’Association is now known as Taiwan Furniture Manufacturers’ Association (TFMA).        

In 2005, Honorary Chairman-Fred Chen moved TFMA into a new office, which locates in central Taipei, facing Howard Plaza Hotel, between MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station and Daan Station, and just a 10 minutes walk from the SOGO  Shopping District. This convenient location and spacious  office offers  the union a perfect venue for meetings and other social events.
