About the trade fair in China

WCO 2012, the world’s leading conference in ocean science, engineering, technology and management, will be held at Dalian World Expo Center from Sep.20 -23, 2012, with the theme of New Wave of World Marine Economy.

This ocean conference WCO 2012 will seek the views and creative ideas of the international community in addressing ocean and coastal resource management issues in China. The sessions will present the most recent advances in the fields of Ocean. Presentations and plenary sessions will cover a broad spectrum of ocean and coastal issues that are of interest to a multi-disciplinary and international audience, with particular interest in policy development. These presentations will identify or offer solutions to problems, utilize case studies, identify knowledge gaps or collaboration opportunities, and discuss broader applications and implications of material presented.

BIT’s 1st Annual World Congress of Ocean (WCO 2012) will bring together leaders from governments, NGOs, international organizations, research institutions and private sectors to achieve the purpose of  increasing awareness such as an important role that ocean played in our lives, ocean environmental protection, using of ocean energy, etc. Given the fact that China possesses large ocean resources, WCO-2012 will strengthen participation from domestic and provide more opportunities for project matchmaking and information exchange between international participants and Chinese attendees.
