Taipei International Mold & Die Industry Fair 2011

Mold & Die is a basic industry as well as technical industry, more fitting for operation at small enterprises than at Trust styles. Thus, Mold & Die industry is apt to develop and endure in Taiwan, based on the fact that Taiwan has been renowned for its small-and-medium-sized enterprises.

The 1th Int'l Mold & Die Industry Fair was held in 1995 and emerged to international events with three grand meetings: the FADMA General Assembly, the presentation of technical thesis forum and Int’l Mold & Die Industry Fair. In 2001, it was splendidly staged with four other grand meetings (plus the Seminar of New Products). It is highly commend from Mold & Die and Metalworking Industries over the 7 editions, and thus engaged as a significant activity every July for technical & developmental exchange and purchasing.

Taiwan became a leading power worldwide of OEM in virtue of its excellent technical labor and flexible reaction capabilities in the past 12 years, and learned rapidly production technology and governance in this period. But facing the development of China recent years, Taiwan manufacturing advantages are replaced gradually by China consequent upon market size and cheap labors attracting global capital. Eventually, Taiwan will part from finally the economic strategy of OEM. Especially confront with market liberalization & globalization after joining WTO, the profits of OEM will cut down due to manufacturing transfer to China. In order to raise the profit-making abilities, Taiwan must turn from the OEM role to innovator and R&D.

Promote Taiwan capability of design & innovation to value-added industry development, Taiwan must shift from OEM to ODM stage, not only reinforce the gradation & depth of cooperation, but also lower the chances of replacement Both the design & production of Mould and the design & development of product are inseparable. Taiwan has high-standard processing industries and excellent supply level, and it will become a strong backing if combining of home & international IC design companies to support Taiwan ODM industry as a strong backing. For providing the completed chain, 2007 Taiwan Int’l Mould & ODM Exhibition is going to build a special area for ODM which will be focused on product design & development, and will divide the area into 2 pavilions as (1) Design & PDM/CAD/CAM/CAE (ODM) (2) Design & Production of Mould, Sub-Manufacture (OEM). In addition, the exhibition will also combine both areas of the design & production of Product Mould, and will provide the necessary firsthand information that may be relevant to your company.
